Most clutter in a home starts at the door. Keys, helmets, wallets, parcels, sunglasses, random receipts – sab kuch haath se chhoot kar pehle surface pe girta hai. If that surface doesn’t exist, it becomes the sofa, a dining chair, or the floor.
A narrow console table near the entrance acts like a landing strip. The moment you walk in, there’s a place to drop things: keys in a small bowl, mail in a tray, bag on a hook beneath, maybe a drawer for masks or spare change. Suddenly you’re not wandering around the house carrying everything.
It also helps when you leave. You know exactly where to find your essentials instead of doing that frantic “Where are my keys?” dance. Add a mirror above and it becomes your last-check zone before stepping out.
Even in a tight entryway, a slim console takes very little depth but adds a huge amount of order and routine.
