Trees near buildings are lovely, but branches that hang directly over roofs can become a problem in storms. High winds can make big branches scrape, hit, or even snap onto the roof. Leaves and small twigs also accumulate, blocking gutters and drains.
If you see large, heavy branches hovering close to the roof surface, especially dead or dry ones, that’s a warning sign. They should ideally be trimmed back safely by professionals.
Ignoring them means living with the risk of impact damage, punctured membranes, cracked tiles, and constantly clogged drains every stormy season. A little preventive pruning is much kinder to your roof than one big, ugly incident later.
